Our Impact

Since 1909, The Order of The Magi has been Manchester’s hub for magicians and magic enthusiasts alike, offering a welcoming space for everyone passionate about the art of illusion.

From magic tricks to children’s entertainment and balloon modelling, our society embraces all aspects of the magical arts. We gather twice a month at The Irish World Heritage Centre in Cheetham Hill, sharing ideas, learning from renowned magic lecturers, and hosting fun, friendly competitions.

Andrew Normansell Lecture:
Comedy Club Magic

After many years on the commercial circuits, on the outer fringes of the cosy “Magic sphere” Andrew Normansell presents a lecture special on working the comedy clubs.

From years of experience on the boards, from choosing comedy material, how to be a successful and effective compere or M. C. Plus, tips to selecting the right type of magic to present, covering all aspects of the comedy club world – including how to get started as well as what not to do !

This is a unique lecture for the Order of the Magi and for the keen comedian or magical entertainer who wishes to venture beyond the pub or living room into the real world, out there in the comedy trenches.
